EBS R12.2 Install Error - oracle.apps.fnd.txk.config.ProcessStateException: Patch directory does not exist or not writable -
If you are Installing Oracle E-Business suite R12.2 and encountered below mentioned error then its clear that there is a problem in your stage area. There are missing patches in your EBS Stage Area.
Error Stack:
This might give you error on some different patch number but the problem is same. Initially I've created stage with the base release of start CD (12.2.0.46). Later I used the same stage with latest version of start CD (12.2.0.48).
Problem:
- There are missing patches in the Stage Area and rapidwiz is not able to locate those patches.
Solution:
- Copy all patches from start CD (12.2.0.48) to an Existing Staging area.
- This option will copy all patches included in Start CD (12.2.0.48) into an existing Stage Area,
- List of patches copied to an existing stage directory.
- Exit Stage builder menu.
The process of copying additional patches will be same for all version of start CD's (12.2.0.47/48). Make sure that you run stage builder (buildstage.sh) script from new version of start CD. This will only copy those patches which are not included in the stage directory.

Running Database Install Driver for test instance

I too got the same error for Vision install , tried your workaround but no luck posting below error. Please suggest if you have other workaround.
FYI: able to install fresh install of 12.2 but Vision :(
