Oracle Solaris 11.4 VM Template - Import Virtual Box

In this blog post we will see the step by step procedure for importing the Oracle Solaris 11.4 VM template in virtual box. We need virtual box software already installed.

Oracle Solaris 11.4 VM template can be downloaded from the below URL:

https://www.oracle.com/solaris/solaris11/downloads/solaris-downloads.html

Oracle VM Templates

Download templates for Oracle VM VirtualBox, for Oracle VM Server for SPARC, and for an Oracle Solaris 10 zone to run on Oracle Solaris 11 releases.

After the download is complete we are ready to proceed with the import of Oracle Solaris 11.4 VM Template.

- Go to preferences and select "Import Appliance"

- Browse the location of template downloaded file

- Once the import is completed, the newly provisioned VM will be listed in Machine list of Virtual Box.

- Next Power on the virtual machine and follow below steps to complete the system configuration.

- Review the configuration and continue with apply.

- After applying the configuration machine will reboot and next login its ready to use.

Now the machine is ready to use, in next post we will see how we can configure this machine for database server.
